'Walking Dead' Season 7 trailer set for release July 22

ATLANTA, July 15 (UPI) -- AMC says it will release the first Season 7 trailer for The Walking Dead at San Diego Comic-Con next week.

"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. You are it. The #TWD Season 7 trailer arrives Friday, July 22 at #TWDSDCC," the show's official Twitter account said Thursday.

Accompanying the message was a night photo showing most of the series' beloved characters on their knees in front of a silhouette of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's villainous Negan, who has a barbed wire-covered bat resting on his shoulder.

Seen by the headlights of cars surrounding them are the grim faces of Glenn, Rosita, Daryl, Michonne, Abraham, Maggie, Sasha, Aaron, Carl and Eugene. Andrew Lincoln's Rick, the group's leader, is directly in front of Negan.

Season 6 of the zombie-apocalypse drama ended with Negan bludgeoning someone to death, however who that was will not be revealed until the Season 7 premiere.
