LOS ANGELES, July 1 (UPI) -- Netflix's Gilmore Girls revival will delve into Michel's backstory.

Yanic Truesdale, 46, who will reprise Michel Gerard, revealed as much in an interview with Us Weekly. Michel is the uptight French concierge who works at the Independence Inn in the original WB/CW series.

"We kind of haven't seen Michel outside of work really," Truesdale said. "I think very rarely he was outside of the Inn. And we didn't know much about his personal life. So this time is different. We know much more."

"That is nice for me as an actor because it gives me a backstory," he added. "It gives me meat for the character ... So the fans can expect to discover more about Michel ... You will definitely find out more about him."

Truesdale was a series regular throughout the show's original seven-season run. The actor gave similar hints about his storyline when he spoke to Gotham in April, saying the revival will feature an older and "changed" Michel.

"We will get to know much about him and there's stuff happening to him and there's an arc," he revealed. "I have changed, like any human being. So, by definition, because I have changed, I think Michel has changed."

Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, who play Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, are among the other stars who will return for the revival. The series is titled Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and will premiere on Netflix later this year.
