LOS ANGELES, June 23 (UPI) -- Nicole Ari Parker has joined ABC's upcoming time-travel drama Time After Time as part of a recasting.
According to Deadline, Parker is coming in to replace actress Regina Taylor who was first seen in the pilot as billionaire philanthropist and time machine owner Vanessa Anders.
Reportedly, the characterization of Anders did not test as well as the rest of the pilot, so ABC has decided to rework the character.
Parker is known for her television roles in Soul Food, Murder in the First, Revolution, Real Husband's of Hollywood and Rosewood.
Based on the 1979 Karl Alexander novel and movie adaptation by Nicholas Meyer, Time After Time follows famous writer H.G. Wells (Freddie Stroma) who time travels to modern-day New York in order to capture Jack the Ripper (Josh Bowman).
In the series first trailer released in May, Anders reveals to Wells that she is his great granddaughter.
