NEW YORK, June 17 (UPI) -- Dwayne Johnson ate candy for the first time since 1989 Thursday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

"I'm just not a big candy guy," the actor said to Fallon after explaining that the last piece of candy he had was a Twizzlers while watching a movie inside a theater.

"So you never go to a 7-Eleven and right at the corner you just go 'ah I'll take that,'' the late night host asked. "No never did that," Johnson responded.

Wanting to end the candy drought, Fallon then brought out a collection of sugary treats including a pack of extra-long Twizzlers, Ring Pops, Nerds Rope and a gigantic gummy worm in order to convince the action star to eat candy once again.

Finally, the former WWE Champion agreed to eat some Pop Rocks which Fallon poured into his mouth.

"So that's what candy tastes like," Johnson said. "It's amazing."

Johnson can be seen alongside Kevin Hart in the action-comedy Central Intelligence, now in theaters.
