Ben Schwartz pens heartfelt goodbye letter to 'House of Lies' as series ends

LOS ANGELES, June 13 (UPI) -- Ben Schwartz said goodbye to his Showtime comedy series House of Lies in a heartfelt letter as the series finale aired Sunday.

"Thank you House of Lies for five wonderful seasons. Thank you Matthew Carnahan for conjuring this show up in your beautiful brain and showing me a show runner can be as intelligent as he is supportive, hilarious and kind," the actor wrote in a lengthy post on his personal blog.

"Thank you Showtime for giving us 58 episodes to take risks and say things no other network would allow," the former Parks and Recreation star continued.

Schwartz portrayed Clyde Oberhold on the series alongside Don Cheadle, Josh Lawson and Kristen Bell as a group of management consultants who do whatever it takes to get business deals done. The actor is also known for his role as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on Parks and Recreation.

"Thank you to Kristen Bell who is a mother [expletive] boss!" the actor wrote of Bell while thanking the cast. "Kristen is able to juggle comedy and drama to perfection all while making the world a better place. Oh also, SHE DID IT WHILE GROWING A BABY INSIDE OF HER! TWICE! She is truly capable of anything and will be one of the driving forces in making Earth a better place."

"And of course, thank you Daddy. Don Cheadle. You are it, my friend. Every day I came to set excited to learn from you. There should be classes in college where students just follow you around to absorb. It has been one of the greatest honors of my career to watch you perform."

In conclusion, Schwartz paid homage to the show's fans as well. "Thank you for cheering us on," he wrote. "It fueled us on to do more and take bigger risks. It was an honor to create this world for you every week and I hope you enjoy the way it all wraps up."

House of Lies wrapped up Sunday on Showtime with a final episode that was shot in Cuba.
