LOS ANGELES, June 10 (UPI) -- ABC is partnering up with Dick Clark Productions to enter the television industry's live musical trend with For The Record Live.

The Los Angeles production, created by Shane Scheel and Anderson Davis in 2010, presents itself as a unique experience focused on the soundtracks from films by renowned directors like Quentin Tarantino, John Hughes, Baz Luhrmann, Martin Scorsese and others.

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said For The Record Live will be "a first-of-its-kind live musical event," made for the network, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It comes soon after the success of NBC's The Wiz and Fox's Grease Live!.

For The Record has over the years featured both new and known talent, including the likes of Rumer Willis, Janel Parrish, Tracie Thoms, Barrett Foa, Lindsey Gort, Lindsay Pearce, and Ginifer King.

"Five years ago, we set out to create a live production that celebrated movies and the people who make them. We built a production in Hollywood and filled it with talent paying tribute to the biggest icons of the movie and music industries," creator Scheel said.

"Over the years, we've been privileged to welcome many of these directors and stars of their movies to our shows. Their experiences at our shows are what sparked the idea for the live television adaptation of For the Record. We could not imagine better partners than ABC and the legendary Dick Clark Productions to help make our vision come alive on television," Scheel added.

There is no word on whether Rumer Willis will appear in the live version of the stage show, but the actress and Dancing With the Stars alum did highlight the production on Instagram Thursday. "Could not be more proud!!!" she wrote.
