LOS ANGELES, May 21 (UPI) -- Scottish actor Ewan McGregor is to star as two very different brothers -- Emmit and Ray Stussy -- in Season 3 of the anthology series Fargo.

The Hollywood Reporter said Friday McGregor will portray both Emmit, the parking-lot king of Minnesota, and his loser, younger sibling.

Production on Season 3 of the crime dramedy is to start later this year. It is expected to premiere on FX in 2017.

The fresh episodes are rumored to be set in 2010 after the events that take place in Season 1.

"None of the main characters from our first year will be back for our third year," the show's creator Noah Hawley told THR in December.

McGregor's films include Trainspotting, Black Hawk Down, Moulin Rouge!, the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Big Fish and August: Osage County.
