NEW YORK, May 17 (UPI) -- Longtime Access Hollywood host Billy Bush will be moving from the entertainment program to join Today starting at the 9 a.m. hour.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the news was announced Tuesday through an email to staffers from senior vice president and executive in charge of Today Noah Oppenheim. The change comes as Today co-host Natalie Morales was announced as moving to Los Angeles to host Access Hollywood following Bush's exit.
"Billy has been a part of the Today extended family for quite some time -- he brings boundless energy, a great interviewing style and a deep knowledge of pop culture," Oppenheim wrote.
Bush will become a part of Today starting in August to coincide with NBC's coverage of the Summer Olympics in Rio.
As of now, Bush will be joining Today's 9 a.m. lineup which includes Tamron Hall, Al Roker and Willie Geist barring any further changes.
The 44-year-old television personality joined Access Hollywood in 2001 and has served as host for the Miss Universe pageant.
