"The clock ticks again with the next evolution of the Emmy Award-winning 24," the network said in a press release Monday.

"The series chronicles an adrenaline-fueled race against the clock to stop a devastating terrorist attack on United States soil -- in the same real-time format that has propelled this genre-defining series."

The original 24 series starred Kiefer Sutherland and ran 2001-10. It was followed by the 2014 miniseries 24: Live Another Day. Sutherland is an executive producer on Legacy.
