LOS ANGELES, May 13 (UPI) -- Fox says it has renewed its fan-favorite, American history-themed series Sleepy Hollow for a fourth season.

"That's right Sleepyheads, Sleepy Hollow is coming back!" the show's official Facebook account said Friday afternoon.

The post included a photo of star Tom Mison as his character Ichabod Crane, holding up a human skull. Crane was an American Revolutionary war figure who returned in contemporary, upstate New York to fight demons intent on taking over the world.

Abbie, Crane's dear friend and partner in evil-battling, was killed off in the Season 3 finale after actress Nicole Beharie quit the show.

No return date or cast details for Season 4 were released.
