LOS ANGELES, May 12 (UPI) -- Christine Baranski is in talks to star in a new series focusing on Diane Lockhart, her attorney character from The Good Wife, which wrapped its seven-season run on CBS last Sunday.

The finale ended with Diane on the outs with the show's protagonist -- Alicia Florrick, played by Julianna Margulies -- and possibly estranged from her husband Kurt McVeigh, played by Gary Cole.

Variety reported the possible spinoff would air on CBS All Access and could feature Baranski's fellow Good Wife alum Cush Jumbo, who played lawyer Lucca Quinn.

The pilot will likely be penned by Good Wife co-creators/executive producers Robert and Michelle King, who are currently working on their next series, the horror dramedy BrainDead, which is to premiere June 13.
