NEW YORK, May 4 (UPI) -- Talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel will be the first guest co-host on the morning program Live! after star Michael Strahan exits later this month.

"Monday, May 16th, @jimmykimmel will be Kelly's first guest co-host!" the show tweeted Tuesday, along with a photo of a grinning Kimmel.

Strahan's last day co-hosting the show with Kelly Ripa will be May 13. He is leaving the program after four years to become a full-time contributor on Good Morning America in September.

Ripa stayed off Live! for several days last month because she was upset she was not notified about Strahan's departure until it was announced to the media. She has since returned to work and congratulated Strahan on his new job on the air.

No replacement for Strahan has been chosen yet. Kimmel is the host of late-night's Jimmy Kimmel Live.
