David Duchovny, Alicia Witt, Josh McDermitt, Ashley Judd join 'Twin Peaks' revival

LOS ANGELES, April 26 (UPI) -- Showtime has released a cast list featuring the names of the 217 actors who will appear in the revival of its mystery drama Twin Peaks.

Included on the lengthy roster are David Duchovny, Ashley Judd, Tim Roth, Eddie Vedder, Trent Reznor, Tom Sizemore, Harry Dean Stanton and Naomi Watts.

Also part of the ensemble are Matthew Lillard, Alicia Witt, Jim Belushi, Laura Dern, Michael Cera, Jay R. Ferguson, Balthazar Getty, Ernie Hudson, Ethan Suplee and Grace Zabriskie.

Principal photography has concluded on the fresh episodes, which will appear on the cable network next year. The sequel was written and produced by series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost, and directed entirely by Lynch.

The revival will also feature the return of the drama's stars Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, Peggy Lipton, Sheryl Lee and Russ Tamblyn.

"One of the most groundbreaking and influential television series of all time, the new Showtime series picks up 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered," a press release said.
