Season 2 of 'Mr. Robot' to premiere July 13

NEW YORK, April 20 (UPI) -- USA Network says the 10-episode, second season of Mr. Robot will begin on July 13.

The Golden Globe Award-winning drama from writer and executive producer Sam Esmail follows Elliot Alderson [played by Rami Malek,] "a young cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker-group fsociety, after being recruited by their mysterious leader [played by Christian Slater,]" a synopsis noted.

"Following the events of fsociety's 5/9 hack on multi-national company Evil Corp, the second season will explore the consequences of that attack, as well as the illusion of control."

The show's ensemble also includes Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer and Stephanie Corneliussen.
