LOS ANGELES, March 30 (UPI) -- Famke Janssen is being linked to a Blacklist spinoff at NBC.
Sources confirmed the 51-year-old Dutch actress will debut on the series May 5 before returning May 12 in an episode that will double as a backdoor pilot for the developing spinoff.
Janssen will play Susan "Scottie" Halstead on the crime drama. Details about the character are being kept under wraps, but sources told The Hollywood Reporter Scottie is possibly mom to the mysterious Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold).
Edi Gathegi, who portrays Matias Solomon, will co-star on the spinoff. The Blacklist creator Jon Bokencamp and executive producers John Eisendrath and John Davis will co-produce the new series, with Justified helmer Michael Dinner as director.
The Blacklist stars James Spader as Raymond "Red" Reddington, a high-profile Navy-officer-turned-criminal who cooperates with the FBI in exchange for immunity and the right to work exclusively with profiler Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone).
Janssen is known for playing Jean Grey in the Marvel cinematic universe and Olivia Godfrey on Netflix series Hemlock Grove. She portrays Eve Rothlow on ABC drama How to Get Away with Murder, which was renewed for a third season in March.
The Blacklist Season 3 premiered in October and will return to television April 7. The series was renewed for a fourth season in December.
