LOS ANGELES, March 15 (UPI) -- The Bachelor's Ben Higgins appeared alongside his newfound fiancee on Jimmy Kimmel Live in their first television appearance as a couple.

Higgins and Lauren Bushnell dished on their several months of secrecy after filming for the reality show ended Monday night, saying they were kept behind closed doors for days at a time in order to maintain the mystery.

"It's like house arrest," Kimmel said in response to the couple, who said the best house in which they were kept was a mansion that lacked Wi-Fi, cable and other amenities.

Regarding their relationship, Higgins said he doesn't connect much with The Bachelor since filming the finale in November.

"I personally feel very disconnected watching the show because of how much life has moved on, post-show with her," Higgins said, saying fear for the future has not crossed either of their minds.

ABC's 20th season of The Bachelor wrapped up Monday night with Bushnell ultimately becoming engaged to Higgins. It was recently announced Jojo Fletcher will appear as the Bachelorette in the next edition of the gender-swapped reality series.
