Helen Mirren smooches Stephen Colbert on air

NEW YORK, March 9 (UPI) -- Helen Mirren locked lips with Stephen Colbert during her appearance on The Late Show.

The British actress grabbed Colbert upon her entrance on camera and came in for a sensuous kiss Tuesday night. The 70-year-old dame said she had been wanting to kiss the late night host for 15 years.

"If I didn't do it then, I'd never get to do it," Mirren said upon sitting down. "I have been dreaming of doing that for about 15 years, so I just grabbed my chance."

The surprise kiss left Colbert, 51, speechless. "I suddenly can't remember any questions," he said. "Can you imagine the number of people who are jealous of me right now?"

"Including me when I watch it," Mirren joked. "I'll be going, 'oh why didn't I do more?'"
