LOS ANGELES, March 4 (UPI) -- Season 2 of the psychological drama Wayward Pines will premiere May 25, FOX has announced.
The series is executive produced by M. Night Shyamalan and based on Blake Crouch's best-selling books.
Returning for the 10-episode second season are Season 1 stars Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Melissa Leo, Tim Griffin, Shannyn Sossamon and Charlie Tahan.
Newcomers to the cast include Jason Patric, Djimon Hounsou and Hope Davis.
Season 2 "will pick up after the shocking events of Season 1, with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation," a press release said. "Dr. Theo Yedlin -- a new resident of Wayward Pines -- awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion, as he tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and help preserve the endangered human race."
