LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Kaley Cuoco is looking forward to a fresh start in 2016 following her split from husband Ryan Sweeting.

The 30-year-old actress opened up about her impending divorce from the 28-year-old tennis player on Tuesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Cuoco and Sweeting announced their split in September after less than two years of marriage.

"Last year was very bizarre," the star acknowledged. "We all go through really weird ups and downs. And sometimes I'm a little bit more seen. And everyone goes through that stuff, so I already feel like 2016 is going to be a much better year than 2015."

"It's been rough, but things are going good and I'm much, much better now," she qualified. "I'm in a much better place than I was."

Cuoco showed DeGeneres her new moth tattoo, which she got in November to cover up her wedding date ink. The actress has since been linked to Sam Hunt, but denied she's dating the 31-year-old singer in an interview Saturday with Extra.

"Really -- not," the star said of the romance reports. "If I walk out of the stable with my horse, they're going to say I'm dating my horse. It doesn't matter -- it doesn't matter what I do."

Cuoco is best known for playing Penny on CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which will air its 200th episode Thursday. The series co-stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Simon Helberg, and airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.
