'Legion' enlists Aubrey Plaza, Dan Stevens for TV pilot

Production is expected to begin in March.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- FX's upcoming Legion pilot will feature Dan Stevens, Aubrey Plaza and Jean Smart in its leading roles.

The X-Men spinoff will follow the lead Marvel character David Haller, played by Downton Abbey actor Stevens, with Parks and Recreation star Plaza playing his optimistic friend Lenny.

Fargo actress Smart will play a "nurturing, demanding," therapist, according to Variety.

The three actors join cast member Rachel Keller and creator Noah Hawley. Production is expected to commence in March of this year, with no set premier date announced.

Executive producers for Legion include frequent X-Men director Bryan Singer and X-Men: Apocalypse writer Simon Kinberg.
