Jim Carrey's 'I'm Dying Up Here' gets series order from Showtime

PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Showtime says it has ordered to series I'm Dying Up Here, the show Jim Carrey is producing about the 1970s Los Angeles comedy scene.

The cast will include Melissa Leo, Ari Graynor, Clark Duke, Michael Angarano, Andrew Santino, RJ Cyler, Erik Griffin and Stephen Guarino.

"I'm Dying Up Here follows up-and-coming comedians in L.A. in the 1970s, who are mentored by Goldie, a brassy comedy club owner who rules over her business with an iron fist and nurtures her comedians with tough love," a press release said.

Among the Season 1 guest stars will be Alfred Molina, Sebastian Stan, Robert Forster, Jon Daly, Al Madrigal, Dylan Baker, Brianne Howey, Ginger Gonzaga and Cathy Moriarty.
