LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- The Directors Guild of America announced its remaining nominees for Outstanding Directional Achievement awards in television, commercials and documentaries Wednesday.

Among the nominees are Game of Thrones director David Nutter for the episode "Mother's Mercy," Modern Family director Gail Mancuso for "White Christmas," and director Alex Gibney for the HBO documentary Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.

Directors of specific television programs, including The Tonight Show, The Daily Show, Shark Tank and Sesame Street, also earned nominations.

Filmmakers were honored with nominations in the Commercial category for Ikea, ESPN, Old Spice, Comcast and Nike ads, among others.

"With more television and documentary choices than ever available to audiences, the level of directorial excellence across the nominees for these nine categories is unparalleled," said guild president Paris Barclay, who on Tuesday announced the top five film directors of 2015.

"We're proud to recognize the critical role of director in these genres and honor the incredible range of talent and skill found in all of these projects. Congratulations to the nominees."
