Netflix orders 10-episode psychological drama series 'Gypsy'

BEVERLY HILLS , Calif., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Netflix says it has ordered 10 episodes of Gypsy, a one-hour psychological thriller from Universal Television, Working Title and writer Lisa Rubin.

No casting has been announced yet for the series, which is expected to premiere via the streaming service in 2017.

"Gypsy follows the journey of Jean Holloway – a therapist who begins to develop dangerous and intimate relationships with the people in her patients' lives," a news release said. "Liza Chasin and Lisa Rubin will serve as executive producers, with Rubin also serving as writer."

Rubin's upcoming projects include adapting Gayle Forman's best-selling novel I Was Here for New Line and penning a screenplay based on Jessica Tom's book Food Whore for DreamWorks.
