Mark Letscher to return on 'The Flash'

The actor first played Reverse-Flash in Season 1.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Matt Letscher will return on The Flash in 2016.

News outlets confirmed the 45-year-old actor will reprise Eobard Thawne, aka Reverse-Flash, a role he played in Season 1, Episode 17 and Episode 23.

"His impossible return to Central City puts a member of the S.T.A.R. Labs team in unexpected danger, forcing Barry to make a life-changing decision," executive producer Todd Helbing told Entertainment Weekly.

Letscher will appear on Season 2, Episode 11 on Jan. 26, according to IMDb. His character is a nemesis of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), aka the Flash, and traveled back in time to kill the superhero's mother in Season 1.

The Flash premiered in October 2014, and co-stars Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Dr. Caitlin Snow and Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne. The series follows Barry, a crime scene investigator who develops superhuman speed.

Letscher is also known for playing Gavin Stone on NBC sitcom Good Morning, Miami and Tom Bradshaw on The CW series The Carrie Diaries. His film credits include The Mask of Zorro with Antonio Banderas and Gods and Generals with Jeff Daniels.
