BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Yolanda Foster is standing up for herself amid continued speculation about her chronic Lyme disease.

The 51-year-old reality star denied she's faking the illness in a lengthy blog post after The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Lisa Rinna suggested Foster has Munchausen syndrome on Tuesday's episode.

"I don't blame Rinna, Kyle [Richards] or [Lisa Vanderpump] -- I understand it and feel sorry to see my battle be such a point of weakness for them," she wrote. "Too many chronically ill people are misunderstood by others, including family, friends and their community."

"It seems in today's world your word isn't good enough anymore so even though I should not have to prove my case, I'm not afraid to do so," she said. "I will move on from the absurd Munchausen comment that is an insult to my integrity and that of my two children who battle this disease on a daily basis."

Foster shared several details about her condition, including she has multiple co-infections and impaired cognitive function from brain inflammation. Rinna subsequently told Bravo she "[does] believe [Foster] is suffering from Lyme," and explained her comments in a post Wednesday.

"The word 'Munchausen' was brought to me by friend that these girls do not personally know, and I felt this was a safe place to bring it up," she wrote. "I don't feel good about it and I was very upset that I engaged in these conversations with other that are as naive as I am about Lyme disease."

Foster's estranged husband, David Foster, defended the star when he broke his silence on their impending divorce this week. Foster recently returned for RHOBH season 6, which airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
