Jordan Smith crowned the Season 9 winner of 'The Voice'

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Jordan Smith was crowned the Season 9 winner of The Voice Tuesday night.

The Kentucky native, who was mentored by music superstar Adam Levine, walked away with the grand prize of a recording contract.

Emily Ann Roberts was declared the runner-up and Barrett Baber came in third place.

In addition to Levine, the viewer-voted, singing-competition series also featured Pharrell Williams, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani as coaches this season.

Carson Daly was the NBC program's host.
