Shailene Woodley to co-star in HBO's 'Big Little Lies'

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Shailene Woodley has joined the cast of the small-screen adaptation of Liane Moriarty's book Big Little Lies.

The Hollywood Reporter said Woodley will appear alongside previously announced stars Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman in the HBO limited series, which is being penned by David E. Kelley.

The entertainment industry trade newspaper said the story follows three mothers of kindergartners "whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to the point of murder."

Woodley, 24, is known for her work on the TV series The Secret Life of the American Teenager, as well as in the films The Fault in Our Stars, The Descendants and the Divergent franchise.
