NEW YORK, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Saturday Night Live cast member Cecily Strong kicked off this weekend's edition of the sketch-comedy show with a heartfelt message to the people of Paris.

Several Islamic State-led attacks in numerous locations around the French city Friday night left more than 120 dead and hundreds injured.

"Paris is the city of lights and, here in New York City, we know that light will never go out," Strong said at the top of Saturday's show.

"Our love and support is with everyone there tonight. We stand with you."

She then repeated the message in French.
