LONDON, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Lily James and Matt Barber are to reprise their roles of Lady Rose and Atticus Aldridge on the upcoming series finale of Downton Abbey.
ITV and Carnival Films, the beloved British costume drama's producers, confirmed the news Friday.
Set on New Year's Eve 1925, the episode will also feature Patricia Hodge as Bertie Pelham's mother and Peter Egan as Lady Rose's father.
Created by Julian Fellowes, the show follows the lives of the wealthy Crawley family and the loyal servants who work for them at their country estate. Returning for the last episode will be series regulars Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern, Jim Carter, Penelope Wilton, Samantha Bond, Phyllis Logan, Laura Carmichael, Allen Leech, Matthew Goode, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt, Lesley Nicol, Sophie McShera, Robert James-Collier, Kevin Doyle and Raquel Cassidy.
"Mary endeavors to build bridges with her sister while Edith's secret continues to pose a threat, despite having nothing left to lose. As Henry settles into the role of husband and stepfather, finding his place at Downton proves more difficult. Below stairs, Carson faces some personal challenges, which prove that even he is not invulnerable to change," a news release said.
Scenes for the episode were shot at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland and at the Ritz in London.
The sixth and final season of Downton Abbey is to wrap up this Christmas in the United Kingdom on ITV. The last episodes will air in the United States on PBS, starting Jan. 3.
