NEW YORK, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- B.D. Wong has joined the cast of Gotham. The 55-year-old actor will play the DC Comics villain Hugo Strange on Season 2 of the Fox series.
On Gotham, Strange is a professor and psychiatrist hired to run the city's creepy Arkham Asylum. The network told ComicBook.com the character "appears altruistic," but "harbors a dark secret" that makes him Gotham's "greatest threat."
This week's episode saw Bridgit Pike (Michelle Veintimilla), aka Firefly, taken to the newly-introduced Indian Hill facility after her confrontation with the Gotham City Police Department. Strange conducts human experiments for the secret Wayne Enterprises program.

In the comics, Strange is a scientist and thief who experiments on inmates to create monstrous henchmen. He also appears as a Batman-obsessed psychiatrist who plagues the superhero and deduces his identity as Bruce Wayne.
Gotham takes place during Bruce Wayne's (David Mazouz) childhood, and focuses on a young Det. James Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Donal Logue co-stars as Harvey Bullock, with Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin.
Wong is known for playing Dr. Henry Wu in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, and portrayed Dr. George Huang on Seasons 2 through 14 of Law & Order: SVU. He also played Father Ray Mukada on Oz and recently appeared in HBO movie The Normal Heart.
