"The first time we see Freeze is [Nov. 30], and then we're going to be telling a heavy Freeze story in episodes 12 and 13," executive producer John Stephens told TV Line.

In the comics, Fries is a scientist who injures himself while attempting to cure his terminally ill wife, Nora Fries. The character is forced to wear a cryogenic suit to survive, but possesses superhuman strength and special weapons to freeze objects.

Gotham takes place during Bruce Wayne's (David Mazouz) childhood, and focuses on a young Det. James Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Donal Logue co-stars as Harvey Bullock, with Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot and Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle.

Darrow is best known for portraying Edward Meechum on Netflix series House of Cards, which will return for a fourth season in 2016. He will play Bernie Madoff's late son, Andrew Madoff, in the forthcoming HBO movie The Wizard of Lies starring Robert De Niro.
