Miss Universe Pageant to air on FOX on Dec. 20

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- The 2015 Miss Universe Pageant has been picked up by FOX.

The 3-hour beauty competition will air live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Dec. 20.

"Contestants will soon travel from all over the world to Las Vegas to compete for the title of Miss Universe 2015 and, of course, the crown," the pageant's website said.

"We are very excited and cannot wait to see who will become the next Miss Universe!"

The contest had aired on NBC for more than a decade, however the network severed ties with The Miss Universe Organization after its previous partner Donald Trump made controversial statements during his campaign for the Republican presidential candidacy.
