Hayes Grier gets the boot on 'Dancing with the Stars;' Leah Remini helps out as co-host

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Hayes Grier and Emma Slater were eliminated from Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars in Los Angeles Monday night.

"You go out on a night where you excelled. You did such great dancing tonight and this competition is going to miss you," host Tom Bergeron told Grier, a Vine and social-media personality, on the Halloween-themed episode.

"Everyone here, all those guys, they are brilliant people and this has meant so much to me. It has been a really life-changing event," Grier said, hugging Slater, his professional dance partner.

Still in the running for the coveted mirrorball trophy are Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess, Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson, Tamar Braxton and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold, Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas, and Andy Grammer and Allison Holker.

The DWTS judges' panel is made up of Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Julianne Hough. Former contestant Lea Remini filled in as co-host for Bergeron's regular partner Erin Andrews for the evening.

Remini also created buzz when she dropped to the floor on all fours after dancer Sasha Farber, wearing a creepy clown mask, snuck up on her.

"Damn you! You know what? Sasha!" Remini yelled before laughing. "I am not good with people scaring me. ... I really am not."
