LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- CBS has ordered a second season of Zoo, the limited series which ended last month with a massive cliffhanger.
The followup is to air next summer.
"Zoo's thrilling stories clicked with audiences each week during a very competitive summer," Glenn Geller, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement Friday. "We're excited for viewers to see where our talented writers and cast take them as the adventure continues to unfold during Season 2 in the ultimate fight of man vs. beast."
Based on the novel by James Patterson, Season 1 of the science-fiction series is now available for streaming on Netflix.
The global thriller -- about a wave of violent animal attacks against humans across the planet -- stars James Wolk, Kristen Connolly, Nonso Anozie, Nora Arnezeder and Billy Burke.
