NEW YORK, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Carly Fiorina, the only female, Republican presidential candidate, is to appear as a guest on Monday's telecast of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, NBC announced.

"Fiorina, who according to many had a strong showing at Wednesday's Republican debate, was formerly the chief executive officer of Hewlett Packard and ran for a U.S. Senate seat representing California in 2010," a network news release said.

She is the latest political candidate to try to boost his or her cause by appearing on a late-night television program.

Fiorina's foes Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton were also recent guests on The Tonight Show, while Jeb Bush and possible Democrat candidate Joe Biden have visited The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this month.
