Westworld is based on the 1973 film of the same name, which was written and directed by author Michael Crichton. The movie sees Richard Benjamin face off against an android (Yul Brynner) who begins to attack and kill guests.

The new series is created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, with J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk as executive producers. James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton, Rodrigo Santoro and Ed Harris also star.

Westworld will premiere in 2016. Wood is known for playing Jessie Sammler on ABC drama Once and Again and Sophie-Anne Leclerq on HBO series True Blood, and is also scheduled for Into the Forest with Ellen Page.
