Uzo Aduba, Amber Riley join 'The Wiz Live!' ensemble

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Uzo Aduba and Amber Riley have joined the ensemble of The Wiz Live!, NBC announced.

Orange is the New Black Emmy winner Aduba is to play Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, in the Dec. 3 live, musical production, while Glee alum Riley will portray Addaperle, the Good Witch of the North.

"We are so happy to welcome two actors we've admired and wanted so much to work with," executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a joint statement Thursday. "We look forward to showcasing the amazing musical talents of Amber and we are eager to introduce Uzo's remarkable singing voice for those who know her solely as an extraordinary dramatic actress."

The Wiz Live! cast also includes Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and David Alan Grier.
