NEW YORK, July 28 (UPI) -- Following difficult conversations and an even tougher rejection scene, Season 11 of The Bachelorette has come to an end.
Spoiler alert ahead! The finale opened with a meeting between bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe's parents and her potential suitors, Nick Viall and Shawn Booth.
Bristowe's mother was displeased wih Viall's attitude towards Andi Dorfman after they had sex and didn't appreciate Booth's jealous behavior. Though Booth and Viall ultimately pleased the crowd, Booth went one step further and admitted to Bristowe's father that he struggled seeing his daughter go off with other guys because of how much he cares.
Final dates between Bristowe and her potential suitors take followed.
Then came the fateful meeting between Bristowe and Viall. Viall entered the conversation full of confidence, citing his calm collectedness as an indication of him and Bristowe's connection being true love. Upon facing Bristowe, Viall delivered a monologue about his love for Bristowe and how he doesn't want to let her go. He then began to get down on his knee before he was stopped halfway by Bristowe, who tells Viall that her heart is with someone else.
Viall abruptly cut her off with an "OK" before voicing his disappointment and anger in the rejection limo and hurling the ring he received from Bristowe in Ireland.
Bristowe's meeting with Booth followed, with the bachelorette's face gleaming as Booth delivered his speech. Booth called Bristowe his best friend and love of his life, adding that she has made him the happiest guy in the world.
The feeling is right and Booth goes down on one knee to certify the couple's engagement as a Neil Lane diamond ring goes on Bristowe's finger. Season 11 ended with kisses between the newly engaged couple.
