LONDON, July 18 (UPI) -- Britain's iconic, science-fiction series Doctor Who has been renewed for a 10th season.

The BBC confirmed the news to RadioTimes.com, but did not say whether current stars Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman will return as the titular time-traveler and his companion Clara Oswald.

Showrunner Steven Moffat will be back for Season 10, however.

Season 9 featuring Capaldi and Coleman -- and helmed by Moffat -- is to premiere Sept 19.
