LOS ANGELES, July 17 (UPI) -- David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson star in a first The X-Files revival teaser.

The 54-year-old actor and 46-year-old actress return as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in the preview, which premiered after Thursday's episode of Wayward Pines. Fox previously released a new snippet of the pair in their "201 Days of The X-Files" promo.

The 15-second trailer sees Mulder and Scully at the ready as soldiers investigate a fallen spacecraft, bodies are dragged away in a warehouse and a surgeon readies an ominous tool. Mulder's iconic "I want to believe" poster also makes an appearance.

"It's going to be strange and fun [returning to the show]," Duchovny told People in May. "Thankfully, Gillian [Anderson] will be there, and we'll both be in positions of like, 'Are we really here doing this again? Are we really saying those words again?' At least we'll have each other."

The X-Files had a nine-season run from 1993 to 2002, and will return as a six-episode limited series Jan. 24, 2016. The program follows Mulder and Scully as they investigate unsolved and unexplained cases involving paranormal phenomena.
