LOS ANGELES, July 9 (UPI) -- Homeland fans received their first look at season 5 of the Showtime series on Thursday with a 30-second teaser trailer.

In that short amount of time, the video shows Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) walking around and getting attacked twice, Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) calling her "stupid" and "naive" and Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) who seems to be in another country makes a cameo.

Alexander Fehling will be playing Carrie's love interest, Jonas. Sebastian Koch is playing Carrie's new boss Otto. Lord of the Rings' Miranda Otto will play a character named Allison and Sarah Sokolovic as a journalist named Laura Sutton.

Showtime's official description for the show's newest season says: "Season five will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison's ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the 'war on terror,' Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working for a private security firm."

Homeland season 5 will premiere this fall and will also be available on the new streaming site the company introduced on Tuesday. Now users who don't have cable can subscribe to watch the shows for $11 per month.
