UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., June 25 (UPI) -- Singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins has been tapped to guest star in the second season of the half-hour comedy series Playing House, USA Network announced Thursday.

Loggins will appear as himself in the season finale, which is to air Sept. 8.

"One of the most memorable through-lines in Season 1 of Playing House was the bond Emma [played by Jessica St. Clair] and Maggie [played by Lennon Parham] shared, singing their favorite Loggins tunes," a news release said. "Now Season 2 culminates as the best friends have the chance of a lifetime to go to one of his concerts. When things don't go as they planned, the diehard fans will risk it all to get closer to their musical inspiration and into the 'Danger Zone.'"

Loggins' other hit songs include "I'm Alright," "Footloose," "Meet Me Halfway" and "Conviction of the Heart."
