BEVERLY HILLS , Calif., June 24 (UPI) -- Netflix has released a minute-long trailer for its upcoming series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, which is set in 1981 Maine.

The clip was designed to look like a typical, 1980s-style commercial that had been recorded on videotape.

"Camp Firewood is more than just a summer camp... It's a way of life," says the emotionless announcer for the promotional video, which has gotten more than 400,000 views since it was posted on YouTube Tuesday.

Based on the 2001 movie Wet Hot American Summer and featuring most of the film's now-famous cast members, the eight-episode comedy series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp is to premiere via the streaming service July 31.

It will star Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon and Michael Showalter.
