'True Detective' releases two new season 2 trailers

The HBO anthology series will return June 21.

LOS ANGELES, June 8 (UPI) -- True Detective released two new season 2 trailers over the weekend.

"Chaos" gives a glimpse into the minds of the four main characters, with motorcycle officer Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) declaring he doesn't do well on the sidelines and ethical but troubled detective Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams) questioning another person's integrity.

"Stand" includes no dialogue, but presents several intense moments, including career criminal Frank Seymon (Vince Vaughn) facing off against a group of men in a meeting and compromised detective Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell) bludgeoning someone off screen.

True Detective season 2 will premiere Sun., June 21 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. Series creator Nic Pizzolatto penned all eight episodes, which will follow Paul, Ani and Ray as they investigate a bizarre murder in fictional Vinci, Calif.
