LOS ANGELES, May 15 (UPI) -- Rachel McAdams stars in an intense new True Detective trailer.

The preview sees the 36-year-old actress lament the fate of a missing girl as ethical but troubled detective Ani Bezzerides. Vince Vaughn also appears as career criminal Frank Seymon, who advocates, "Sometimes your worst self is your best self."

Taylor Kitsch co-stars as war veteran motorcycle officer Paul Woodrugh, with Colin Farrell as compromised detective Ray Velcoro. Season two takes place in California, and will return June 21 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
