LOS ANGELES, May 14 (UPI) -- Supergirl released a first trailer Wednesday.
The lengthy preview sees Melissa Benoist embrace her powers and take flight as the titular superhero. The character was born Kara Zor-El, cousin to Kal-El, aka Superman, and adopted the name Kara Danvers while living with her foster family.
Calista Flockhart also stars as Kara's demanding boss, Cat Grant, with Mehcad Brooks as Kara's co-worker and love interest, James "Jimmy" Olsen, and Chyler Leigh as Kara's supportive foster sister, Alexandra "Alex" Danvers.
Supergirl was ordered to series last week, and will premiere in November. Arrow and The Flash executive producer Greg Berlanti co-wrote the pilot with Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg, and will co-executive produce with Adler and Sarah Schechter.
