Netflix orders 'Green Eggs and Ham' series, produced by Ellen DeGeneres

BEVERLY HILLS , Calif., April 29 (UPI) -- Netflix says it has ordered a 13-episode animated series based on Dr. Seuss' children's classic Green Eggs and Ham.

"We think this will be a hit, Green Eggs and Ham is a perfect fit for our growing slate of amazing stories available exclusively in all Netflix territories," Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix, said in a Suessian statement Wednesday. "You can stream it on a phone. You can stream it on your own. You can stream it on TV. You can stream it globally."

The popular rhyming book will be adapted for television by Jared Stern, who will also serve as executive producer alongside Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Kleeman, Mike Karz and David Dobkin. The animated family comedy is from A Very Good Production, A Stern Talking To and Gulfstream Television, in association with Warner Bros. Animation, and distributed by Warner Bros. Television.
