'Game of Thrones' season 5 premieres at Tower of London

LONDON, March 19 (UPI) -- Stars from the hit show Game of Thrones attended the premiere for season five at the Tower of London Wednesday.

Reviews from multiple outlets say the new season is "notably confident" and will have fans gripping their seats from the beginning.

The setting was an appropriate for the premiere of the bloody, Machiavellian battle over the Iron Throne of Westeros. The Tower has seen the vanishings of real-life princes, incarcerated royals and beheaded queens.

The Iron Throne was set up at the Tower for the premiere.

The new season will deviate from the Song of Ice and Fire series written by George R.R. Martin. Fans of the books have been warned some of the characters will die even if they were spared in the books.

"Everybody better be on their toes. [Showrunners] David [Benioff] and DB [Weiss] are even bloodier than I am," said Martin.
