'Game of Thrones' releases new season five trailer

The HBO series will return April 12.

LOS ANGELES, March 9 (UPI) -- Game of Thrones released a new season five trailer Monday on iTunes.

The preview sees Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) vow to break the wheel and reclaim her throne, Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) plot his takeover of the North from Castle Black and the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) stir up religious fervor in King's Landing.

Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) is also shown seeking Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), who arrived at the House of Black and White in Braavos, while Jon Snow (Kit Harington) contends with Stannis and continues his fight against the wildings.

Game of Thrones is based on the A Song of Ice and Fire book series by George R.R. Martin, and season five will follow plot lines from novels four and five, A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons. The program will return April 12 on HBO.
