NEW YORK, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Zelda Williams says the hummingbird she recently had tattooed to her hand was inspired by her late father Robin's personality.
"They're fun and flighty and strange. It's hard to keep them in one place and Dad was a bit like that. Keeping a conversation in one moment was impossible with him," Zelda, 25, said on the Today show Thursday.
Robin Williams, a brilliant standup comedian and Oscar-winning actor, hanged himself in his home last August after years of battling depression. He was 63.
Robin's daughter told Today in her first sit-down television interview since his suicide that she is still learning to live without him, but trying not to dwell on why he took his own life.
"There's no point questioning it and no point blaming anyone for it and there's no point blaming yourself or the world or whatever the case may be because it happened and you have to continue to move and you have to continue to live and manage," she said. "It's going to take a lot of work to allow myself to have the sort of fun, happy life that I had, but that's important. Anybody who has ever lost anyone works very hard to continue that memory in a positive way."
